We often hear about “flashing mobile phones” without knowing what it actually means. The word " Flashing a phone " means when you re-install the phone’s firmware files, re-installing operating OS of the phone.
When the operating system files of a phone are corrupt due to virus attack , incompatible applications respectively , flashing might be the only solution when factory restore settings doesn’t work. In a related development, flashing a phone can also be used to install a cracked firmware, “wake” a dead phone and update the firmware to latest version.
It should be noted that flashing a phone shouldn’t be done just for fun as it has its advantages and it dangerous at the same time. Thus flashing a phone can wake a dead phone but also flashing a working phone can kill it!
You should also note that you may lose any warranty you are entitled to when you flash a contract phone such as phones on T-mobile prepaid phone plans since this may not sit well with your operator.
